Nazis would do anything to the Jews and the other victims during the Holocaust. The Nazis saw the Jews as nothing more than a piece of garbage. The Nazis had said the Jews were inferior, and an alien threat to the so called German racial community (Holocaust Encyclopedia). During the Holocaust the German authorities also targeted other groups because they were perceived as "racial inferiority" like the Roma (gypsies), disabled, and some of the Slavic people. Other groups were persecuted for various reasons like homosexuals, and Jehovah's witnesses (Holocaust Encyclopedia)
In 1933 the Jewish population stood over 9 million Jews in Europe. Most European Jews lived in countries that Nazi Germany would occupy or influence during World War Two
(Holocaust Encyclopedia). By the end of 1945, nearly two thirds of the Jewish population was wiped off the face of the earth by the Nazi's and their collaborators (Holocaust Encyclopedia). A total of six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust between the years of 1933 and 1945. By the end of the Holocaust a total of 11 million lives were lost, by the hands of Hitler, the Nazis and the others that had decided to participate (Think Quest). The persecution of Jews during the Holocaust had happened many ways. Many times when thought about the persecution of Jews we think of one thing; gas chambers. That isn't the case during the Holocaust. The Nazis had doctors who would do medical experiments on Jews and the others. The Nazis also had a group called the Einsatzgruppen, come in and shoot the Jews, and Nazis also gassed the victims in gas vans and also the most popular thing heard of; gas chambers.
